Civil engineering returns

I recently came across an article in the economic times and its sub-channel enterprise ai about civil engineering gaining some ground in the most prestigious undergraduate technical institutions in India, the IITs. There have also been articles from last 2-3 years about a considerable hike in salaries offered to civil engineers, especially the blessed ones working with data center construction ($150K/yr–$180K/yr for 5+ years exp).
I'm not getting into a debate about whether this is hype, or real. Maybe it is, or maybe not. And, maybe, there's somewhere/sometime a data analysis showing a graph on how civil engineering is growing big time against the other branches of engineering, and in fact overtaking all the others (remember, I said maybe).
But, I don't care. I'm a proud civil engineer and this is the kind of news that makes me happier.
